In summary, following are the list of deviations & key highlights of the issue:
1) 60% of said complaints weren't addressed during the initial service time. Multiple bluffing's were made here
-While both service engineer and manager confirmed that wheel balancing was done. Just after pressing hard for the report, the car was taken to an outside vendor and balancing was done
-For wheel air leak issue, it was confirmed by service engineer that issue was resolved by replacing the mouth but in reality nothing has been done.
2) Radiator replacement have multiple versions of deviations:
-I was confirmed that failure/leakage was caused by physical damage
-I was confirmed that the vehicle was dismantled before gathering the needed evidence for insurance
-Part availability was not checked (although issue was well confirmed to be on radiator) before dismantling the vehicle. From one day delivery expectation, it went closer to a week time to get delivery
-Suspicious info on real spare ordering (According to records parts manager confirmed the availability of spare in salem WH/stores on 27th Aug). I am still scared and awaiting for the confirmation from VW india team as the dealer couldn't confirm any proofs so far)
3)False estimations:
- Initial estimation was Rs.47K wherein fina bill was Rs.58k
While i challenged to service manager, such deviations were told to be normal later after pressing hard it was accepted as mistake
- 3 SMSs sent in a row with different estimation value
- Although it was claimed to be a mistake, no one could confirm so far on settling the difference amount
4) I raised a formal complaint almost close to 4 months back & it's still open. The way this complaint is handled so far:
- On my request, CRM raised a formal complaint on 2nd Sep'22 (SLF09997455)
- Didn't get any further update through CRM so i escalated to AGM on 4th Sep'22
- Until i call him 6th Sep'22, i didn't get any response
- AGM fixed 2 appointments with me to get back on the issue but failed to full-fill. Then on, I stopped communicating orally & demanded for written communication. 15th Sep is where the first summary was provided. Then CRM head came into the picture
- Most of the email responses were done only after repeated reminders
- During the call with GM on 21 Sep, he promised to get back on the next day post to cross checking the radiator related dispute but only on 30th SEP is were he could make his stand
- Although I could prove mistakes with proofs, the summary of the retrospective conclusions from the dealer for all problems is just "Miscommunication"
- In most cases, only got partial answer to the queries in e-mail or no straight/up to the point answers
- Last but not the least, I have been pressing hard already for 2 months time already for VW India team to investigate the matter but didn't even hear anything except the joint call held a week ago with VW South region Sr. Manager and no way forward (in-spite i already called the customer care 9 times so far and all emails are having the VW customer care in the copy)
5) Specific impacts:
- Terrible experience during the week-end of 27th Aug. Struggled a lot with the entire family to shuttle back to Chennai. Then on did 2 more travels with the hope to get the car but couldn't neither get the delivery nor a concrete time for delivery
- As i was in Chennai, my brother had to travel to get the car delivered. Even after claiming ready for delivery (post to my payment of Rs.58k), he needs to spend 2.5hrs to receive the car
- Couldn't use the car for a month (Gave the car for service on 27th Aug and final confirmation of issues were done on 28th Sep)
- Didn't get yet valid reason for delay in delivery (Although part was well available as per records)
- Loss of money & Waste of time
- Unexplainable mental & physical stress
- Not trust worthy & No transp
Complain registered on Volkswagon customer support, number: CCR09478151 & CCR09482613
The sales guy Mr. Sridhar who sold the car to us passes on the call to the service person Mr. Kaliappan and Mr. Jaiprakash who doesnt even pick their calls or updates the situation to us. Even for a 2 min call with them we need to contact VW India support team and they merge the call for 2 mins. After which the Ramani VW service team disappears as usual. Why do they even sell cars that cant run 500kms properly or why do they sell cars to customers if its going to be in their service centre forever.
