Five-Door Thar Roxx Showcased in Bold New Colors with Fresh Exterior Updates
Mahindra is preparing to introduce the Thar Roxx, a five-door version of the well-known Thar SUV, with its official launch scheduled for August 15. Recently, the company revealed the Thar Roxx in two new colors Black and White giving enthusiasts a glimpse of its updated exterior design.
The Thar Roxx brings several noticeable changes compared to the current Thar model. A redesigned front grille is paired with unique, windmill-inspired alloy wheels that are exclusive to this model. The front end now features C-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) around the headlights, and the fog lamps are integrated into the bumper. Silver accents can be seen along the side steps, and the rear quarter glass has been redesigned with a triangular shape. The wheel arches have also been reworked, offering a more angular look than the current Thar.
Mahindra has hinted at several new features that will be included in the Thar Roxx, enhancing its appeal for both off-road enthusiasts and daily drivers. The interior will feature ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and an upgraded infotainment screen. Additionally, the Thar Roxx is expected to come equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), adding an extra layer of safety.
While Mahindra has not yet confirmed the engine options for the Thar Roxx, it is likely to be powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, similar to what is found in model like the Scorpio-N. A 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine is also expected to be available. Built on a slightly updated platform, the Thar Roxx is rumored to be around 40 kilograms lighter, with a longer wheelbase that gives it a more commanding presence on the road.
Upon its release, the Thar Roxx will go head-to-head with other popular off-road SUVs, including the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. Positioned above the current Thar models, the Thar Roxx is expected to carry a higher price tag, reflecting its additional features and enhanced size.
