Maruti has once again brought out a new addition to its portfolio of limited editions. This time, Maruti seems to have devised a new sales strategy to sell off its excess stock of white 'V' spec Swifts in an attractive package of graphics and sticker jobs.
The Windsong edition is based on the usual 'V' trim, and is much cheaper than the regular 'V' trim variants, but comes in an impressive design. It wears a sporty look both on the exteriors and the interior. The Windsong comes in a single “Pearl White” colour with contrasting black stripes on the front grille and musical notes all over the sides. It also sports a stylish wheel cover pattern, front and rear mud flaps and rear upper spoiler which are an added standard along with parking sensors on its rear bumper.
As for its interiors, what catches your attention most is the Sony touchscreen music system with 4 speakers and Bluetooth, CD, DVD and USB functions, and an integrated reversing camera. Additional features that make the Windsong version different from the regular Swift is a new dual-toned upholstery (black and yellow), whose theme is carried on to the steering and gear lever.
It also has an ambient lighting in the footwells, illuminated Swift-badged sill guards and PVC floor mats.
The new Swift Windsong special edition gets its power from the same 1.3 litre multijet engine and 1.2 litre K-series petrol engine, which is seen on the regular Swift models. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox that is designed to offer a fuel efficiency of 20.4 kmpl for petrol and 25.2 kmpl for diesel.
The diesel VDi variant is quoted at a price of Rs 6.1 lakhs, while the petrol Vxi version is priced at Rs 5.14 lakhs. The company would be producing only limted numbers of the Windsong cars and is already available for booking in India.

Is this limited edition available in all showrooms in India? I enquired at a showroom in Kerala and they said it wasn't available there.
