Ford Endeavour Gets A New Look For 2015

Ford has made a plan to turn India into one of its export hubs, and India would be producing and assembling the new Ford Endeavour in this regard. If this speculation holds true, then the new model would probably be sold at an aggressive price in India.



Design and Styling



The new addition to the exteriors of the latest model of the Endeavour hint at an upright three-part grille, small sweptback headlamps, with a stylish front bumper under-guard that blends into the bumper to reach the fog lamps.



The new model also features a raked front windshield, a sloping roof-line, slight body tweaks near the bottom of the front door. Towards the rear end, a new tail-gate mounted spoiler is present which was not seen in the new Endeavour concept. The rest of the SUV features the same styling from its concept model which include large split tail lamps, heavy chrome garnish and a boot-lid mounted number plate holder. On the interiors, the new Endeavour would inculcate some of the premium styling elements from the Ford F-150, which is mainly sold in the US.



The new model would feature a multi-function steering wheel, 8-inch touchscreen display and the SYNCII infotainment system which would facilitate better smartphone integration with improved voice-activated controls.

Engine and Performance



The new Endeavour is expected to offer 3 variations in its engine line-up - a 2.2-litre four-cylinder TDCi engine, a 3.2-litre five-cylinder TDCi engine and a 2.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost engine, which would be paired to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The 2.2-litre diesel engine is expected to give a maximum power output of 147.5bhp with a peak torque of 385Nm, the 3.2-litre motor would deliver a power output of 197bhp and 470Nm torque, while the sole petrol engine would give a peak power of 234bhp and 360Nm torque.

Competition and Price



The new SUV from Ford would give some stiff competition for the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the upcoming Hyundai Santa Fe, and is expected to be launched by the end of the year for an estimate price of Rs 20-25lakhs.
