The Swedish manufacturing company, started with the production of the S60 variant since early 2000's. With each production the engine has been varying and the makers have practically tried something innovative each time they come up with a new breed of the S60. The S60 formation initially was created to challenge a particular series of two German makes- the BMW 3 series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
The policemen of the UK and the Europe patrol around in customized S60's. There are no major detailing done for the police cars. Volvo has been very active in the Indian market and their cars are described as mighty vehicles, owing to their strong bodies. The Volvo company puts safety first in all of the brands and has never compromised with it's tag-line “Safety First”.
As of 2015 Volvo has launched it's S60 T6 petrol variant in India, this key-less entry car has most of the facilities that you could find in it's big brother the XC90. The T6 engine is a 2.0L, with 8 Speed FWD auto transmission. As this sedan is a compact one, it is a drive-e vehicle as described by the Volvo group. This compact car as displayed is ready to release 306 horses and 400 torque which is very much the reason as to why this car is impressive, in addition to the fact that it's a 2.0L. Volvo states that this is just a start and more is on the way. There would be hybrids of the same genre and some other variants which would be revealed soon.
The S60 T6 can be definitely added to the current generation style make of cars. All the safety features added to this car definitely makes the passengers feel safe at some point of danger. The car is occupied with 6 airbags and there are a few very interesting drive-e safety features, for example the auto breaking system. These type of safety features are good, but the makers should be considerate enough of their target location and hence should be clearly aware of those current road conditions.
The auto breaking feature would be very inessential on the Indian roads, other interesting safety features include the driver alert feature, this safety feature enables the automated teller to alert the driver when switching lanes. The S60 T6 isn't much of a let down for the company, it has closely followed the norms of the company and shines just like it's older brothers.
Altogether the new breed of the S60 family- The S60 T6 looks fit and wouldn't bore the people who are looking for a suitable family sedan at the price of INR 42 Lakhs. To be honest the car has everything you'd pay for and you wouldn't consider it as a loss of investment. If you are thinking twice whether to buy the car or not, you should be reminded that Volvo built their reputation on selling safer cars, as they were the people who introduced the seat belt.
