Range Rover Sport SVR Launched In India

This is dubbed as the most powerful Range Rover and is the first product of Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicles Operation. It is the first performance oriented SUV from the British company which was acquired by Tata motors. The major attractions on the Range Rover SVR include a switchable Active Sports Exhaust system with electronically controlled valves delivering a distinctive throaty sound, Dynamic Handling thanks to the Anti-Roll Control and an engaging feeling of speed is delivered with Electric Power-Assisted Steering system. The first Land Rover to wear the new high-performance SVR badge, the Range Rover Sport SVR is capable of accelerating from 0-100Km in a breath-taking 4.7 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 260Km.



The new SVR unleashes the full potential of the Range Rover Sport's lightweight and robust all-aluminium architecture, while retaining the refinement, luxury and off-road capability for which Range Rover is world-renowned. Exterior design enhancements ensure the SVR makes a striking visual impact, while simultaneously boosting cooling and aerodynamic efficiencies. Although, the Range Rover Sport SVR is based on the Range Rover Sport, the company has made sure that it doesn't look boring.



The Range Rover Sport SVR comes with Jaguar XJR's supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine producing maximum power output of 550hp and maximum torque of 680Nm, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and comes with the AWD feature. The Range Rover Sport SVR can go from 0-100km in under 4.7 seconds, giving a top speed of 260km. The switchable Active Sports Exhaust system features a two-stage active exhaust with electronically controlled valves delivering a distinctive throaty sound. An enhanced 8-speed transmission with sharper, faster gearshifts creates a more immediate connection to the vehicle. The Anti-Roll Control has been tuned for faster, flatter cornering and its Electric Power-Assisted Steering system delivers a more engaged feeling at speed. Well the latest addition to the portfolio is all about performance, so with great performance comes great costs. The vehicle is said to be priced at ₹2.12 Cr. The SUV is rumoured to be pitted against the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and a Model of the Mercedes-Benz. There would be 5 variants available in the Indian market.
