Renault SUV Duster Facelift Model to Compete with Ford EcoSport

Renault, the French automaker is expected to present a facelift model of Renault Duster SUV. The Renault SUV(sport utility vehicle) has its sales both in Indian and global markets. The facelift model of Renault Duster is expected to be launched by the mid of 2014.



The company is also planning to reveal 4WD(four wheeler drive) option to compete with the Ford EcoSport. Renault Duster 4WD SUV will be launched by 2013 March.

An auto portal from Brazil has explored the images and launch details of 2014 Duster. According to the website, the four wheeler will launch by 2014 in Brazil, so we can expect similar SUV in India too.



The new facelift design is primarily based on the DCross concept of Renault. DCross Duster has been unveiled at 2012's Sao Paulo Motor Show. A better look is given to the facelift version with some changes in both exterior and interior.

The exterior changes include the stylish headlight and fog lights, both will be rectangular in shape. Front grill and the bumper will become more robust. The minimal changes that made at the rear includes the bigger tail lamps. If the interior changes are concerned, changes can be expected in terms of material quality and level of development. For the better access, the multi function touch-screen display that was placed low in the center console earlier will be moved to the top of dashboard.



So far as the history of Renault is concerned, Renault Duster is the vehicle that not only brought profits and good days to the French automaker in India but also initiated the culture of compact SUVs in the country.

Renault Duster was launched in India by 4th July 2012. Within this 6 months the company had sold over 20,000 units. Duster had already earned a lot of appreciation in terms of mileage and performance. Duster today is amongst the top selling SUVs in India. This pulled the other automakers to introduce their own SUVs in India.



The company is developing 4WD Duster at its Chennai based plant. The price of the vehicle will be 1 lakh higher than the existing petrol and 110PS diesel versions. The launch of 4WD version in 2013 and new facelift Renault Duster in 2014 will surely help the Renault to make a good increase in their sales.



One of the major launches that the Indian automobile freaks are awaiting in the same segment is the Maruti XA Alpha. The other competitors in the same segment include Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio.
