It seems that each and every car maker is busy in introducing new-new models as the Tokyo Motor Show is getting closer. This time, it's with Isuzu Motors Ltd., a Japanese automobile manufacturing firm. As the Tokyo event is just days away, the firm has just announced its 2014 MU-X SUV model.
At a single keen stare, it's realized that the 2014 Isuzu MU-X has taken many cues from the D-Max. Of course, it's based on it. The wedge-shaped front fascia and muscular flared wheel arches are identical to the D-Max. Meanwhile, the bonnet and front doors are shared with the Colorado 7.
The off-roader is spacious too. It offers comfortable seats for 7 people.
The car is equipped with six-speaker sound system with iPod and Bluetooth. While, high-end variant, LS-T, gets a roof-mounted Sky Sound system with 10-inch DVD monitors for the rear passengers, which makes the machine to the next level of luxury.
The MU-X is available 3 trims with 4x4 and 4x2 wheel drive options.
Powered by an inline-four 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine, the machine burns out a max power of 174 bhp (130 kW) at 3,600 rpm and a max torque of 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) at 1,800 rpm. It's mated either with a five-speed manual gearbox or with a five-speed electronically-controlled transmission.
