Toyota wraps off the cover of the 2014 Highlander Hybrid. The next generation vehicle starts at $46,370 and is priced up to $47,300 for the top variant, which are not included of destination charges.
The 2014 version comes with some alterations. The front fascia has been refreshed. Now the grille looks wider and the fog lights get lower. While, windows go more rounded and the side panels get sculpted.
There are changes at the rear side too. The wraparound tail lamps now go extended to the side of the vehicle and a power-operated rear liftgate adds further sportiness to it.
Toyota hasn't made any changes under the hood. The Highlander is available in two engine options – 2.7 liter and 3.5 liter. The 2.7 liter, four-cylinder heart, which delivers a peak power of 187 bhp. It's coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. This variant is available only in front wheel drive option.
The next is a 3.5 liter V6 engine, which is available in both Standard and Hybrid options. The Standard gets powered by 270 hp with a 6 speed automatic gear transmission. It comes in both front wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Meanwhile, the Hybrid generates a peak power of 280 Hp with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) with road all-wheel drive.
