The German Luxury car maker, Audi has launched its latest Audi Q5 sports utility vehicle in India. The 2013 Audi Q5 is a facelift version and is available at a price range between Rs 43.16 lakh and Rs 48.71 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
The new Audi Q5 will be available in three types of engines-2.0 TDlq, 3.0 TDlq and 2.0 TFSlq with fuel economy improved upto 15 percent. Out of these three engines, both 2.0 TDIq and 3.0 TDIq are diesel variants and will be available at a starting price of Rs. 43.47 lakh and Rs. 48.71 lakh respectively. The 2.0 TFSlq is petrol variant and will be available at a staring price of 43.16 lakh.
The 2.0 TDIq motor has fuel consumption of 14.6 kmpl [ARAI] and that of 2.0 TFSlq is 11.81. The energy recovery comes standard on all engines. While the 2-litre and 3-litre comes with a maximum power of 177 hp and 245 hp respectively, the petrol engine delivers a power of 225hp.

Audi Q5 comes with five passenger seats and have a stylish interior. When the dimension of the vehicle is concerned, it has a length of 4629 mm, width of 1880 mm and height of 1653 mm. Front brakes are ventilated and has rear disc brakes. The vehicle has a powerful steering and the tyre size is 235/60 R18. Audi has a kerb weight of 21500 kg, ground clearance of 165 mm and fuel tank capacity of 72 litres.

Changes have been made to the design, infotainment system, assistance systems and the engine. Most of the changes are done at the interior of the vehicle. The facelift version of Audi Q5 comprise of a new tail rear diffuser, new fog lamps, updated tail lamps and a hexagonal grill.
When the changes in the interior is concerned, it includes a new steering wheel, new trimmings around the cabin space and a reworked multi-media interface. The body of Audi Q5 is made of Quasi dual stainless steel exhaust with polished tailpipe finish. The Audi Q5 has five doors and is provided with a maximum cargo volume.
Audi Q5 gives much importance to its safety features, which includes 8 airbags, parking sensors, fog lamps, traction control, EBD, ABS, ESP and three rear seat belts. The central locking can be done with a remote.
Audi Q5 first launched in India in 2008. By 2012 company Audi sold 9003 cars in India and new showrooms were opened in Raipur, Kanpur, Goa, Navi Mumbai, Coimbatore, Delhi West, Nagpur and Bhopal. It grew its sales in December also with more than 100 per cent at 931 units compared with 394 units in same month in 2011. Audi Q5 will be a good competitor of BMW.
