The Japanese Auto maker, Honda has recently launched Honda CR-V in United Kingdom in October. Honda has the plan to launch the CR-V in India too. It is expected that the current CR-V will be officially replaced by the 2013 CR-V. The new generation CR-V is expected to be launch by March 2013.
The new CR-V will be available in 2.0-litre and the 2.4-litre petrol variants. Due to the high sulphur content in the Indian diesel, the 2.2-litre i-DTEC is not used in country. Another news is that India have to wait some more time for the CR-V diesel version to come. The new CR-V makes a transmission of five speed gear box.
The new Honda CR-V will come with a seating space for five people, which promises good fuel economy and efficiency.
The 2013 Honda CR-V was first launched in USA, then in Europe and thereafter in Australia. In Australia it come out with two power trains and two transmission options with AWD and FWD options. The 2013 CR-V has crowned the '4x4 of The Year' by the prestigious publication Total 4x4. This was the very first award won by Honda CR-V.
The new CR-V comes with much better improvements than its predecessor in all aspects.The new CR-V will be shorter and lesser in length than the discontinued CR-V. Honda CR-V will be available with a choice of two and four-wheel drive option for the very first time. A five-inch multi-information display(MID) is embedded, which is reasonably easy to use, and you even get a text message reader. Also installed a new Multi-Angle Rearview Camera, which allows drivers to switch between a 130- and 180-degree field of view.
The three-bar horizontal front grille is also much more dominant than the current CR-V’s, with slimmed-down headlights flanking it on either side. The lower front bumper is designed to get SUV capability. The new CR-V will never comprise on the quality, refinement and functionality.
In order to reduce the cost, the companies are following the trend of assembling it locally. To withstand in the current competition, the new CR-V will also be assembled locally. Even though the price of the car is not announced officially, we expecting the price at a range of Rs.20 lakhs to Rs.24 lakhs. Moreover new CR-V will be a good competitor of Outlander and BMW X1 Petrol.
