Toyota continues to reign the line of car manufacturers once again, this year being its third consecutive year.
As per the sales record, which rounded up to 10.23 million units per year, Toyota, along with its subsidiaries Daihatsu and Hino Motors, has overpowered Volkswagen, another car manufacturing giant in the international sector. The company has witnessed a rise in sales of SUVs in the US, which in turn, has led to significant rise of 3% in the company's growth statistics.
Volkswagen's growth records state that it has established a sales of around 10.14 million units leading to an ascent of 4.2%, owing to the large numbers of brand names and subsidiaries under it. Although the company provides only the Tiguan and Touareg at present, Volkswagen seems to have realized the increasing demand in the SUV segment and is all set to establish its name over its rivals in this segment. However, even though Toyota seemingly managed to beat Volkswagen, analysts revealed that the brand is not bothered about increasing the numbers but is looking for more profit. In fact, there has been a decline in sales by 1% for Toyota back in its own home, Japan.
A spokesman from Volkswagen later added on that the company is looking forward to expand its production by adding more number of manufacturing facilities. On the contrary, Toyota seems to be least bothered about Volkswagen's attempts to raise its current standards.
