Significant Size Increase for Enhanced Comfort
The new BMW 5 Series LWB stands out with its extended dimensions. The model measures 5,175 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,520 mm in height, with a wheelbase stretching to 3,105 mm. This makes it 110 mm longer than the standard 5 Series wheelbase and larger than the upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB.
Fresh Design and Modern Interior
The 2024 BMW 5 Series features a modern design with a prominent, illuminated kidney grille and sharper lines. It includes angular headlights and a more aggressive front bumper. The car also boasts unique details like the “5” badge on the C-pillar and L-shaped taillights at the rear.
Inside, the cabin mirrors the luxurious feel of the BMW 7 Series. The long-wheelbase model offers generous rear legroom and comfortable seats. The driver’s area is highlighted by a Curved Display with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen, integrated with BMW's iDrive 8.5 system. Additional features include ventilated front seats, a premium 18-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system, wireless charging, and rear entertainment screens.
Performance and Variants
Initially, the BMW 5 Series LWB will be offered as the 530Li M Sport. This variant is powered by a 2.0-liter petrol engine with mild-hybrid support, producing 205 bhp and 330 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A diesel option is expected to be introduced in the future.
