General Motors India has recently announced its plan to introduce a facelift version of Chevrolet Captiva. The facelift Chevrolet Captiva will be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show, which is scheduled to be held on March 2013. The new Captiva comes with the changes in both exterior and interior.
Engine:
The facelift Chevrolet Captiva comes in two engine variants. The new Captiva will be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces a peak power of 184 Bhp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. The other engine comes with a maximum power and maximum torque of 163 Bhp and 350 Nm respectively. Both the engines comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Interior:
The 2013 Captiva comes with restyled trims in the instrument panel, fresh seat colors and it now sports new fabrics. The additional features include keyless entry, a dual zone climate system, while the ambient lighting package and heated rear seats provide gives more comfort.
Exterior:
The notable changes in the exterior includes a new lower bumper, new mesh grille, redesigned fog lamps, new LED tail lamps, 18 inch alloys, revamped bumper and angular chrome exhaust tips.
The President and Managing Director of Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe, Susan Docherty said,”With Captiva and Trax, Chevrolet will offer two very distinct SUVs in Europe, both featuring Chevrolet's iconic design”. He added, “Trax combines the agility of small car and the versatility of an SUV, making it perfect for today's urban explorer. The larger and more powerful Captiva has a more upscale presence. Captiva is an ideal companion of those who wants who wants to have some adventure, but feel that they could do with more space, capacity and that extra bit of convenience.”
With the Captiva, Trax will also be unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The Trax will be offered with Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment system, which streams smartphone content to a seven-inch touchscreen. It also offers compatibility with the iPhone Siri voice-assistance system. Through these four wheelers, the company hopes to conquer the popular and fast-growing small SUV segment.
The face lift Captiva will reaches India after its launch in International market. The vehicle will compete against Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Outlander, Ford Endevour, Renault Duster and upcoming Ford EcoSport. Let's wait till the March for further details.
