Chevrolet has launched a facelift version of the Spark for the South Africa market. The vehicle is called Beat in India.

The vehicle will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine which produces 81 Bhp and 108 Nm of torque, which comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Beat's diesel model comes fitted with the same 1.0 litre power-mill that produces a peak power and a peak torque of 59 Bhp and 150 Nm respectively. The facelift hatchback get a redesigned alloy wheels in 14 inch and 15 inch sizes.

The top end LT variant of the Spark comes with the safety features like- ABS(Anti-Lock Braking System) and EBD(Electronic brakeforce distribution) as standard, along with rear parking sensors and 4 airbags.
The vehicle comes with a lot of cosmetic changes in interior as well as exterior. When the interior is concerned, the vehicle get a four different sets of trim and revised upholstery. A slight change is made on the design of the central console to improve ergonomics and styling.
The facelifted Beat/Spark gets a lot of exterior changes, which include the completely redesigned front fascia in the form of a bigger grille, refreshed bumper, headlamps, Outer Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) and side skirts as well as some new decal on the hood. When the rear is concerned, the vehicle get a refreshed the tail lamps and has also given chrome treatment for the exhaust tip. There is also a new roof spoiler as well as a redesigned bumper.
The S.Africa spec Beat/Spark is available in five different variants. Chevrolet has also introduced a cargo version called the Pronto which has a caged in loading section in place of the rear seats. The vehicle has the capacity to carry 876 litres of cargo.
The facelift Beat/ Spark will be available at a staring price of 106,110 Rand (Rs 6.4 lakh) for the campus variant all the way to the LT petrol which is priced at 136,500 Rand (Rs 8.3 lakh).
The Beat is well known for it extra mileage by the Chevrolet Beat Diesel. The reason why people prefers Beat over other cars, is due to its comfort, safety and small manageable size. Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Hyundai Santro Xing will be the major competitors of 2013 facelifted Beat.
