Ford India to launch Figo Celebration Edition on 4th March 2013

The American auto maker, Ford has announced that it is celebrating 3rd anniversary of Figo by launching a new celebration edition on the 4th March 2013. Ford Figo, launched in 2010, is one of the American automaker’s best-selling car in the country. As per reports, Figo accounts for over 80 per cent of the total sales of Ford India Private Limited in the Indian market.



The model got facelift last year, which includes more than 140 changes. The major modifications include modifications include reworked head and tail lights, steering mounted controls, redesigned front bumper and new color options.



Engine:
The engine will remains as the same, the 1.2-litre petrol engine churns out a peak power of 75 bhp and the 1.4-litre diesel engine churns out a peak power of 70 bhp. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. The vehicle is going to be a front wheel drive variant as same as the previous versions.

Features:
It is expected that the vehicle will get some cosmetic changes in both exterior and interior. The exterior modifications include a rear spoiler, skirts, new design alloy wheels, celebration edition badges and some graphics. While the interior is expected to get premium upholstery with some changes at the gear knob and centre console.

As per the earlier reports, American auto maker's had a plan to launch the compact SUV, called EcoSport in India on March 4. The latest reports confirms that EcoSport has been replaced by the facelift Figo hatchback. The Ford EcoSport is a sub-four metre compact crossover, which is powered by a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine that currently powers the Fiesta sedan. The vehicle comes mated to a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. It is expected that Ford India may reveal the launch date of the most awaited EcoSport at the special event.

The Ford Figo has been the most successful model in Indian market, which offers a very good combination of comfort, space and value. The Figo Celebration Edition will be priced attractively as Ford celebrates the Figo`s success. The new Ford Figo will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Chevrolet Sail U-VA.
