Design and Comfort
All new Tata Bolt comes with a head-to-tail design components. First look of the car reminds us about the older model from the company, the Tata Indica Vista. Sharing a few similar design of that of the Vista, the Bolt looks and feels fresh and appealing. Starting from the front, the grille looks pretty similar to the Vista yet Tata signature grill with a unique humanity line, which comes in a piano black shade, flows into the headlamps. A first in class smoked projector headlamps assists the overall look of the car. Providing a better illumination, the smoked headlamps gives the car an energetic and sporty look.
The striking power bulge on the bonnet showcases a raw power hidden under the hood. This distinctive design element adds on to the aggressive look of the vehicle. A premium eight spoke dynamic alloy wheel not only provides a stable and balanced ride but also enhances the overall look of the car. Well Tata managed to give a dynamic look for the rear section too by creating a whole new design for the tail lights. The flame-shaped tail-lights highlights the rear lines and contours which adds on to the sporty and sturdy look of the Bolt.
The upper portion of the car is been designed in a free flowing design element, a floating roof accentuated on three matte black pillars provides an aggressive and steady look for the car. Floating roof design of the car flows straight on to a standard sporty rear spoiler. The rear spoiler is integrated with a high mount stop lamp which not only acts as a design component but also renders an aerodynamic structure to the car. The overall aesthetic look of the car does not go only with its exterior. A Snazzy Java Black interior of the Bolt gives it a refined look. The class leading cabin space provides both driver and passengers with a spacious head and leg space. The total boot space of the Bolt is 210 litres. First in class all automatic AC control on the touch screen offers the passengers a long and stress free ride comfort and experience. A faster air flow is assured from the all new design of the air vents. Seats of the vehicle are designed in a body hugging rugby shoulder design. This design of the seat makes it wider than any other vehicle in the class. Providing the passenger with a better and refined support and comfort the seats are one such element of the car which the customers would love to be on.
Technology and Performance
Under the hood of the Tata Bolt is a massive 1193cc, 4 cylinder, Turbocharged MPFi with MULTI-DRIVE Petrol engine which ignites the car to earn maximum power and performance. The Revotron 1.2T is India's first 1.2 litre turbocharged MPFi petrol engine. The best in class engine is capable of producing a maximum unit power of 90PS at the rate of 5000 rpm and a maximum torque of 140Nm at 1500-4000 rpm. The MULTI-DRIVE feature inbuilt in the engine helps you to choose from three different drive modes such as Sport, Eco and City. Switch on to Sports mode if you want an exciting performance and driving experience, while the Eco mode offers a fuel efficient and smooth ride whereas on the other hand the City mode offers a well balanced and reduced fuel consumption. The Bolt is also available in a Quadrajet 1.3 common rail direct injection, 1248cc, 4 cylinder Diesel engine. Though the Diesel engine produces a lesser power from that of the petrol engine, the engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 75PS at the rate of 4000 rpm and 190Nm of torque at the rate of 1750-3000 rpm.
A manual 5-speed transmission system installed in the Bolt helps the driver to shift through the gears quickly and easily. Safety is a key feature which the Bolt never lets the customers face down. A 9th generation ABS braking system from BOSCH assisted with an EBD (Electronic brake-force distribution) and CSC (Corner Stability Control) ensures safety in case of emergency and high performance of the vehicle. The braking system prevents wheel lock-up and maintains the stability and rigidity in the time of high speeds. A dual front air bag assist also provides extra safety for the driver and passenger at time of a frontal collision. Speed sensing auto locks automatically locks the doors of the vehicle as soon as the car is ignited. Suspension system of the Bolt comes with a front Dual-path McPherson strut with coil spring and anti-roll bar and a rear Twist beam with coil spring and shock absorber suspension system which allows a smoother and balanced driving experience even at the time of high performance and speed rate.
