Do you dare to think that the C-Class is still a baby-Benz? I don't think so. Because, the all new and the fourth generation C-Class has taken steps miles over its predecessor to rule the class.
Mercedes-Benz have unveiled the 2015 C-Class just before the Detroit auto show that takes place next month. This could bring a cut down to the weighting period of tons of MB fans across the world who were eagerly and patiently waited all this long to see this entry sedan class vehicle of MB.
Introducing the new generation C-Class in 2007, Mercedes-Benz has already manufactured over 2.7 million units of C-Class since its production. Now, the firm got realized that it's time for a new baby to replace. Oops! The new vehicle is no more a baby-Benz.
The all new variant has gone wider, longer, higher, and more sporty. Still, Mercedes has retained the classy in it. The C-Class will be initially available in two models - C300 4Matic and C400 4Matic.
Under the hood, the C300 4Matic is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo four engine producing 235 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, and the C400 4Matic with a 3.0-liter turbo V6 heart generating 329 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. These two hearts are mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. As the name (4Matic) indicates, all are all-wheel drive.
MB has taken cues from S-Class in the bold front end, surface treatment, body side lines and sloping rear. Both the interior and the exterior space has got increment. The length got increased by 3.7 inches to 184.5 inches, width expanded by 1.6 inches to 71.2 inches, wheelbase got wider by 3.1 inches to 111.8 inches.
The trunk storage capacity has also been increased to 16.9 cubic feet. This results a new class ride which is absolutely luxurious and the best in the class. Along with this better front and rear seat space are offered.
The 201 C-Class edition, is crafted out with a new high-strength steel and aluminum platform, which claims 220 pounds lighter than its predecessor. This helps the vehicle to be 20% more fuel efficient along with more power and better handling. The C-Class is already at top in handling. So just imagine how if the MB engineers have worked out the already well-engineered vehicle. That would be more than awesome, right? Yep! Absolutely.
To rank the C-Class as the best technologically advanced machine in the class, MB has ensured the C-Class equipped with features such as Attention Assist, Adaptive Brake Assist, Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Distronic Plus with Steering Assist, Brake Assist System Plus and Enhanced Active Lane Keeping Assist, as well as Active Park Assist, a 360-degree camera and Traffic Sign Assist with Wrong-Way Alert.
Airbags, three all-new suspension setups (including the first air suspension in this class), two LED headlamp arrays additional to the standard halogen units, and GPS that works with climate control system do care to take the 2015 C-Class to the very best in the class.
The fourth generation 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is expected to shake the US market by September 2014.
