The new Jeep Grand Cherokee offers a fuel economy of 21 mpg in city and 28 mpg in highway

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with a lot of new features which includes better fuel economy and better driving performance. The vehicle is manufactured by a well-known supplier VM Motori Cento in Ferrara, in Italy, which will be marketed under the EcoDiesel name.

Engine:
The Jeep Grand Cherokee's 2014 model comes with it a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V-6 engine. The four wheeler delivers a maximum power of 240 PS at 3600 rpm and a maximum torque of 569 Nm at 2000 rpm. This engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. In city, the vehicle offers a fuel economy rating of 21 mpg (with power to all four wheels) and 22 mpg (with rear-wheel drive). While in the highway, the vehicle offers a fuel economy of 28 mpg. With a full tank of fuel, the Jeep can travel at a maximum distance of 730 miles. Urea for the diesel is carried in an eight-gallon tank and a full load of urea should last about 10,000 miles.

Interior:
The vehicle comes with a luxurious interior. The vehicle is really spacious, there is enough legroom for both front and rear passengers. The four wheeler comes with a large bootspace, that rear seats can be folded down 60:40 or fully flat. The Grand Cherokee got a configurable 7-inch Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) liquid-crystal display, which features the display of navigation, audio, fuel economy info, Selec-Terrain modes, and warning indicators. The new multimedia input includes a USB port, a SD card slot and an auxiliary jack, while a 12-volt outlet lets passengers charge mobile devices.

Exterior:
The new Grand Cherokee continues with the traditional elements like the seven-slat grille and squared-off wheel arches. The grille itself has reduced in height, as have the headlamps, which now feature LED elements. There's a new aerodynamic spoiler at the top and larger tail lamp clusters on each side.

The safety features include the front park assistance, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with crash mitigation and Select-Speed Control plus cloud-based voice texting on the infotainment side.

The 2014 Grand Cherokee will be offered in three variants: Overland, Limited and Summit. Only the Summit gets the Quadra-Drive II system, for the lower variants get the Quadra-Trac II. The Grand Cherokee is a very competent and luxurious SUV that can take you anywhere. The handling of the new Grand Cherokee is found to be confident and safe. The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be in the showroom by this spring.
